We started this work in 2019 after witnessing too many preventable situations. A retired teacher lost £18,000 to an investment scam. A widower handed over bank details to someone claiming to be from his energy provider. A grandmother nearly transferred her pension to fraudsters posing as police officers.
Each case followed a similar pattern: sophisticated manipulation targeting people who simply hadn't been exposed to these modern tactics. The victims weren't careless. They were facing schemes designed by professionals who understand human psychology.
Our Approach
We believe prevention comes from understanding, not fear. Our courses are built around real scenarios documented by Police Scotland, Trading Standards, and financial fraud units. Every example we teach comes from actual cases.
The material is presented without technical complexity. We assume no prior knowledge. Questions are encouraged, and we adapt our pace to ensure everyone follows clearly.
Who Delivers These Courses
Our teaching team includes former bank security advisors, retired police officers with fraud investigation experience, and consumer rights specialists. Each instructor has worked directly with fraud victims and understands both the tactics used and the psychological impact.
We also partner with Glasgow City Council Trading Standards and local community organizations to ensure our information remains current with emerging threats.
What Sets This Apart
Most security advice remains generic. We focus specifically on the Glasgow area and Scotland-wide patterns. The scams targeting Edinburgh residents differ from those in rural Argyll. We know the local context.
Our group sizes stay small intentionally. No more than twelve participants per workshop. This allows for genuine discussion, individual questions, and the ability to address specific concerns without rushing.
We don't sell products. We don't push subscriptions or ongoing services. You attend a course, learn what you need, and leave with practical knowledge that serves you immediately.
Results That Matter
Since launching, we've educated over 800 individuals across Glasgow and surrounding areas. Follow-up surveys show that 94% of participants successfully identified at least one fraud attempt within six months of completing a course.
More importantly, the knowledge spreads. Participants share what they've learned with family members, neighbors, and friends. One person attending a workshop often protects five or six others indirectly.
Our Commitment
We update course content quarterly to reflect new scam tactics. The fraud landscape changes constantly. What worked last year may not prepare you for this year's approaches.
Every session includes current examples from the past three months. We monitor reports from Action Fraud, Police Scotland bulletins, and local Trading Standards alerts. When a new scheme emerges, we incorporate it immediately.
This isn't passive information delivery. Our goal is active protection through informed awareness. You leave equipped to spot manipulation, verify claims, and respond appropriately when something feels wrong.
